La polizia schierata davanti al Quirinale per il cambio della guardia

On the occasion of the 162nd Founding Anniversary of the Italian National Police, the Mounted Police Units will provide the Guard of Honour at the Quirinale Palace in Rome.

On May 8, 2014, at 3 p.m., the officers of the Mounted Police Units, though unmounted for the occasion, and wearing their historical uniforms, will take their turn in guard mounting at the Quirinale Palace, exchanging duty with the Navy Guard.

The handover will be accompanied by the National Police Band, which will perform live under the direction of Maestro Maurizio Billi and assistant conductor Roberto Granata.

People present at the Guard Mounting will have the opportunity to attend a concert of the Police Band right after the ceremony, performing selections by famous artists such as Antonio Fuselli (Fulgida), Gioachino Rossini (Tarantella), Davide delle Cese (L'Inglesina), Giuseppe Verdi (Aida - Triumphal March), Giulio Andrea Marchesini (Giocondità).

Another musical event for both Romans and tourists will be held on Saturday morning, May 12, 2014, in Piazza di Spagna, where the Police brass band will perform to celebrate the 162nd founding anniversary of the Italian National Police.
